I haven't been playing the lottery very long, but regardless...I can't believe that the jackpot is only increasing from 10 to 12 million.  2 million???  Why is this increase so small?  Is it always always this small when the jackpot is starting off at 10 million?

Sales dictate jackpot increases.  If that's all thye're going to sell, then that's all they can raise it.

V V (Yes) (pronounced yee yee)... It always starts off with a "small" $ amount. Go figure. Everyone is waiting for the POT to build before they go spend $ and play their number's.

I have a theory that the first jackpot jump is so small because they are recouping some of the initial $10 million.  Sales-wise I think the first jackpot would be $6 million, then a $6 million jump to the $12 million.  They advertise a $10 million starting jackpot.

Same with Mega Millions, and other jackpot games.

Plus with the really poor jackpots sales have been droping. Only by one to two million but still a decrease. Looks like they need to change their game. What's interesting is that now mega has more sales at lower jackpot amounts than powerball. Sales even droped below 10 million. First time since 2003 it' has done that.
