Hi everybody,

I was in NYC one night this past week and played the evening Keno game.  They pick 20 numbers from 1-80 and you pick TEN.  I studied the past 50 drawings in preparation.

Man, what a difficult game to beat!  And when I say I studied it, I meant I STUDIED it!!!

Like a safecracker in front of his/her biggest challenge, I wanna crack this NY Keno game!

1) Is this NY Keno game drawn by a computer or is it "random"?

2) Who's got strategies and analyses out there they would like to share?

3) Are there any LP threads or internet articles on Keno specifically you can steer me towards?

I want to play on paper for a while and see how I do.  I want to look at repeat, adjacent, and consecutive numbers, stuff like that.

Remember Ocean's 11?  Maybe we can bust this Keno thing and do a new movie called "Todd's 460".  Gosh, how many posters DO you have here at LP, Todd? :-)

Have a good one.

    1. they do use a RNG to draw their numbers.

    2. i have a set of numbers i've tested against a few RNGs. those numbers are 06-08-16-17-21-24-27-31-66-69.

    3. i think there may be a few threads.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

Gail Howard's program handles this and other keno games very well and is excellent for stats etc.

And what might the name of the book or program be?

I have played all NY games over the years and am still on the losing track.  Pick 10 is like a stepchild as it is not promoted and does not have a large following, as the other games have.

The cut off time to buy tickets is same as the evening pick 3/4, which is 7:30 PM. The results for the pick3/4 are drawn on TV-ch 7 at 7:40 PM and at 8:00 PM at the lottery vendors, however, the pick 10 results are not available till after 9:00 PM, and there is not a set time.  This is very strange and creates suspicion as to why it takes much longer to provide the results for pick 10.

I played Pick 10/Keno for years using wheeling systems, and random picks and still have not found a winning track.

I believe that the numbers are computer generated just as Quick Draw is, which has drawings evey 5 minutes.

I think that you must wheel large numbers of games..for pick 10 which has 80 #'s, it will be necessary to wheel a minimum of 40 #'s, which is very costly and if you dont have enough wins to cover your wheel, then the losses grow very quickly.

I am always open to new strategies and suggestions, so hopefully we can get some valuable input from the many knowledegable people at Lottery Post.

Please post or contact me privately with your findings.  Thank You. JS.

According to a gambling reference book regarding Keno (another book I can not remember the name to for the appropiate credit), the House advantage is around 50% and typically, most State operated versions are in the 80% range. Additionally, one must read the very fine print, even "IF" you actually do get ALL 10 numbers, you may NOT win the Jackpot listed. Instead, you will ONLY win the percentage left in the pot after the State has allocated their portion out. Simply put, if the pot pays out 40% of the take in and after all the smaller (9 balls and less) are paid out, only the remaining funds can be used to pay you. For example, if the game takes in $200,000 and 40% is allowed to be paid from it, that means, only $80,000 in prize money is actually available, once all the smaller bets are paid, then whatever is left over is all the "Grand Prize" Winner will get. Read the small print on your ticket. I can not say that for sure in your state, but in GA, that is how it works. Oh and keep in mind, if the game you happen to play does hit and it only takes in $1,000 you have a sad possiblity of ending up with no more then your ticket face value.  FYI, in GA, KENO is played every 4 minutes.

              Sir Metro

When was the last time the Pick Ten game was hit in NY, 1945? The odds are impossible for such a small jackpot.  Who would play such crap.  Its just a license to print money.

just a couple weeks ago, two tickets matched 10 numbers.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

trying hard to hit here in Mass. where it is played every 4 minutes. Ha anyone done any analyzing in another state where it is played the same and come up with any kind of a play say such as the pic 4 or 5 that showed any kind of win ratio that we could try in our own state as a set to play or maybe someone has an excel spreadsheet that we can feed past winning numbers into and have it calculate the best sets to play. Anyone have any thoughts on this? thanks
