The Pigskin Challenge: POWERBALL 2-23-05

The object of The Pigskin Challenge is to correctly identify the five numbers to be drawn from the Powerball game's 5/53 matrix using ten number selections or less. Making predictions on the red Powerball from the 1/42 matrix is optional. For those who dare, you can specify just one number as most likely to hit from your 5/53 picks. You can do the same with your red Powerball numbers if you predict any. Just be sure to make it perfectly clear which one number you are selecting as most likely to hit in its given matrix. There's no penalty if you don't specify a most likely number. It's just an attempt to get a little better read on how well our systems are working as opposed to having our numbers come up by pure chance.

This is all done with an eye toward helping us improve the accuracy and consistency of our prediction skills. Hopefully, it will also help us find a way to crack this PowerBall game.

The 'skindex rating of results has been revised a bit since the last drawing, so don't expect it to be entirely consistent with Saturday's ratings. I'm trying to fine tune it to be as fair and accurate as possible.

Good luck,

aye'

My numbers for Wednesday's drawing are as follows:

6-9-24-26-34-37-39{40}47  PB: {37} 18

Both of my most likely numbers are on the high side for Wednesday. They actually look a bit strange to me, and I take that to be a good sign.

Good luck to all Challengers,

02 04 06 09 13 20 30 31 48 52

PB 39 20 06

I suggest we limit the Powerball selection to 3 numbers for the challenge. Anyone?

Best of luck

"Just for fun"

1.) I believe no number will "hit" above or smaller than #09.

2.) #13 or 14 will not "hit".

3.) No number will "hit" between #31 and #36.

4.) No number will "hit" between #38 and #40.

5.) No number will "hit" between #42 and #46.

6.) I think the PB Number will either be #12, 18 or 19. Or #22, 23 or 27.

getpaid,

Picking the red PowerBall is only a 41 to 1 shot. Most people only use three numbers or less anyway. We haven't really officially made predicting the PowerBall number a part of the Challenge. It's just evolved that way. Maybe some of the other Challengers have some thoughts on this.

I'm still tweaking the 'skindex rating system, but I will have something ready for tonight's drawing. The revised ratings should be a little more accurate, but they'll probably be a little more stingy too. I hope we have plenty of successful predictions to which I can apply it.

Good luck,
