About a week ago, me and my girlfriend were talking about how things have changed since we were kids. We came up with a lot of things. Here are a few good ones.

Remember when all lottery games were restricted to one state only?

Remember when a $1 million jackpot meant something?

Remember when a $10 million jackpot would spur record sales?

Remember when a $100 million jackpot would result in huge lines at convenience stores?

Remember when a Lotto game was something along the lines of 6/36 (or even less), and not 6/52 (or even more)?

Remember when scratch-offs only costed $1 or $2?

Remember when you could only recieve a multi-million dollar prize through an annuity?

Remember when Lottery tickets only cost $0.50 or $1?

Remember when annuities were only 20 years?

Any of these ring a bell?

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

    And one non-lottery related one:

Remember when you used a cell phone to make calls?

Remember when all lottery games were restricted to one state only? Yeah, In Florida it's still that way.

Remember when a $1 million jackpot meant something? I'm not that old

Remember when a $10 million jackpot would spur record sales? I'm really not that old

Remember when a $100 million jackpot would result in huge lines at convenience stores? Oh yeah.

Remember when a Lotto game was something along the lines of 6/36 (or even less), and not 6/52 (or even more)? No.

Remember when scratch-offs only costed $1 or $2? Yeah. And even then a $2 ticket could provide several minutes of enjoyment.

Remember when you could only recieve a multi-million dollar prize through an annuity? Unfortunately.

Remember when Lottery tickets only cost $0.50 or $1? That wasn't that long ago.

Remember when annuities were only 20 years? Mmm-hmm.

          Here's more good ones.

Remember when lotteries used ball machines?

Remember when lotteries used ball machines, but did not start to televise drawings (The first time, back in the 1970s)?

Remember when lotteries did not have Pick 3 or Pick 4?

Remember when Lotto drawings were only once a week?

Remember when lotteries didn't use computer systems, and tickets were pre-printed?

Remember when $20 million was seen as a record jackpot?

Feel free to think about these.

i remember when soda pop was sold in 10oz. glass bottles

...and instead of video games we played pinball

darn, i miss that favorite old pinball machine (it used to sit in a room at our local restaurant with several other machines) if you earned a high enough score the machine let out a loud "pop" and you got a free game

...now if i win the lottery i might just buy a restored pb machine with noisy mechanical scoring

interesting ... pb=pinball or  pb=powerball  ...hmmmmm good omen?

... the lottery never fails to surprise!

Remember when lotteries only offered lotto games, and did not offer pick 3 or pick 4?

Remember when pick 3 and pick 4 games weren't drawn every day (there was a time when the Big 4 was only drawn 1 or 2 days a week in PA.)?

Remember when ALL lotteries used ball machines?

Remember when the lottery being rigged resulted in massive layoffs and arrests (Nick Perry)?

Remember when Lotto America was still around (Does anyone remember playing that game?)?

Remember when all lotteries had lottery game shows?

Remember when you had to fill out a claim form for wins bigger than $50?

Remember when a $100 million Powerball jackpot would make national news?

Remember when you had to pick your own numbers?

Remember when you oly had a month to claim prizes?

Remember when you only had one matrix for a game instead of 2 or 3?

Remember when the lottery only held one drawing per day?

Remember when you had to go to the store before every drawing to buy tickets?

Remember when you had to either watch the drawing, or look in the newspaper to get the winning numbers?

Remember when $20 instant games guarenteed a prize?
