Frankly, I'm BORED with Powerball & Megamillions.  I really am.  Ticket sales down?  Maybe people are bored with these two games like I am.

They just do not excite me anymore.  They are not fun to play.  What do I mean by this?

Software I own just does not analyze them into digestable chunks that translate into formidable strategies because of the size of the number fields.  Studying the charts generated by the software packages I own does nothing for me for these particular two games.  They are no longer fun to "think" about numerically.  I could care less if they double or triple the jackpots.  Not that I wouldn't mind winning millions, but truth be told, for me the games are just plain boring.

On the other hand, I've been having fun with smaller Pick 5 and Pick 6 games in other states and having fun with Keno.  Smaller number fields turn me on.  Not just because the odds are much better, but more importantly, they are much more fun to analyze and "think" about.  Yes, the 20/80 Keno game is not a "small" number field, but the Keno game's winning twenty numbers have discernible characteristics that translate into playing strategies for the next drawing.  PB and MM do not.

For what it's worth, I'd like to see a Multistate 20/80 Keno game.  I think it would catch on like WILDFIRE.  I think it would generate Keno fever throughout the fifty states.  You want a chance to win millions of dollars?  Then keep on playing MM and PB.  You want to have some fun with number analysis/selection and playing strategies?  Then play a nationally based Keno game (if they ever start one) or play smaller number field games.

I have to disagree.  I find PB and MM fun to break apart, just looking at the numbers in many different ways.  The matrix change(s) will provide a whole new challenge.

i really can't say no to either game. granted i do think that they need to increase the poewrball jackpot, and they are not increasing the mega millions jackpot enough (they should keep it at a multiple of 5), if it's in the millions, i'd be happy winning it. it would be better than what i started out with.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

I find all the lottery games that I play are equally interesting but not equally affordable.  I find that the strategies that I use to pick numbers for the Ohio RollingCash5(5/39) work equally well with MegaMillions(5/52), but working with a bigger matrix requires more combinations for the same results which pays less.  For example RC5 pays $10 for a match3 and MM pays $7 for match3, so I wait for the size of the jackpot to justify the risk.  If I played all the lotteries without taking a break once in a while, I might get bore too.  I think the most boring part of playing lotteries is losing, but that's part of the risk of playing.  I use software that I wrote myself which I can change if I come up with a better idea.  I'm not locked into using someone else's ideas which can also become boring, especially if they don't work.  It's more interesting working with my own worthless ideas than those of someone else.

I like running at the Datona 500 rather than a "Dirt Track." Get my drift.

I come too close all the time to give up on my "System." Someday it will all pay off.

Chief, I've been wondering where your 'inside powerball' info is.  You were doing a great job with it and suddenly it disappeared.

                Greg,

You know, in all the news stories I've ever read, not a single jackpot winner has ever complained about the game he won being too boring. Maybe it's winning and the pursuit of winning that makes all the difference. I think every player has to find his own happiness in a game that suits his individual temperament.

I've never been anywhere that Keno was just drawn once or twice a day. At one time, they almost implemented a proposed Keno game in my state, but they scrapped the game at the last minute because there were objections from lottery retailers who didn't want a bunch of degenerate gamblers hanging around their stores for the drawings that were to be conducted every five minutes or so. It's pretty hard to analyze a game that is drawn so quickly and frequently, but if you're into that kind of action, maybe you should head for the nearest casino. Most casinos offer continuous big board Keno and even Keno slots.

I like Keno too, but I've never won much money at it. The odds and the house take are usually quite formidable. I mostly just enjoy dreaming up all those exotic way tickets!

                Good luck,

                aye'

Actually, I do not want nor am interested in a Keno game drawn every 5 minutes, just one that is drawn every evening.

The NY Keno game reveals an interesting pattern or array of adjacent numbers, repeat numbers, etc. even though the number field is 80 numbers.  I wish PA or NJ had a Keno game like the NY one.

                    Greg:

The joy has to be in the search.  If the search isn't fun anymore maybe it's time to find something else to search for.

I haven't become bored, tired out with numbers, yet, but PB seems to me to be a lot more interesting than the draws with fewer numbers.  Should I tire of it, I'll probably be tired of all of them and spend my time doing something else.  Life's got a lot of options in that regard.  No excuse whatever for it being boring.

I can agree that a national keno game would be fun.
