A friend from Lockport, NY questioned the New York Lottery folks if they would start the Take Five bonus play permanently. He and I did pretty good with it in the past. Here is the Lottery Commissions reply:

"Thank you for your e-mail and we're glad you enjoy our Take Five bonus promotions.

The funds for bonus payouts to customers on promotions come directly
from reserve funds funded by unclaimed prize monies; in other words,
customer money goes back to customers.

The Lottery periodically provides bonus promotional play on several of
its games for a limited time only.  Any permanent changes to any Lottery
game requires legislative approval.

Thank you for your interest in the New York Lottery".

I'd like to see Take Five be changed to a jackpot game.

I knew you would. But will the NY State Legistlature support it?

The NY legislature won't approve a better payback in NY Lotto.

If that's true, then am I correct that the NY Lottery tried? If yes, I would like to see proof of that communication between them.

O.K. So it's not the Lottery's fault that the payout isn't so good, it's the state legistlature. Well, I guess we need to direct our complaints to the state congress people from now on.

And Take Five wouldn't work as a jackpot game. It's won too often. They would have to change the matrix. Maybe 5/49, two plays for $1. New Yorkers seem to like getting two plays for a buck.

True. Last time I checked, Take Five jackpot was won by 7 tickets. There might be drawings of more winners on a single jackpot. I didn't go back to draw one.

But then again with a $3 million jackpot after taxes, that's "about" $214, 285 per winning jackpot ticket... still higher than today.

Two games for $1 is not a good value if it's NY Lotto 6/59.

If you win 1st or 2nd prize it is.

Hmm, well I rather have 2 games for a buck, than 1 game for a buck.

                              lol

That reminds me. I had my 3rd dream of winning a jackpot before I woke today. This time I saw it's specifically NY Lotto. In the dream, I'm in my local store where I had purchased the tickets. I'm circling the winning numbers one by one by one... getting more and more excited, until I see I have circled all 6 winning numbers in the same line. I look in front of me and a man is looking at me expressionless. Is he wondering I won something and wants to rob me, or is it just a glance? Moments later, he leaves the store after purchasing something, and I'm there standing holding my winning ticket, looking around the store and at the store clerk. That's all I remember.
