LANSING, April 27, 2005 Just four days after one lucky player won the states largest jackpot ever, the Michigan Lottery is preparing to award the second largest single days payout as a percentage of sales in its history.
Tuesdays Daily 4 Evening numbers, 1-1-1-1, netted 2,212 Lottery players each a whopping $5,000, for a total of $11,060,000 in prize money. Sales for the drawing were $495,981, setting the payout at 2,230 percent, said Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters. Normally, a Daily 4 Evening payout about 50 percent of sales.
This has been an extraordinary few days for the Michigan Lottery, Peters said. First, a Michigan player wins the states largest jackpot ever, $208 million, and third highest jackpot in the history of Mega Millions. And last night, over 2,000 players hit on the Daily 4 Evening numbers, meaning they will share an $11 million payout.
People cant say nobody wins the Michigan Lottery!
The highest single days payout as a percentage of sales was $13,965,844, when on April 15, 2004, the Daily 4 Evening draw was 1-0-1-0. That payout represented 2,600 percent of sales, Peters said. On May 14, 1993, the Lottery paid its highest one-day amount, $15 million, when the Daily 4 number hit 1-0-2-8. That amount represented 2,227 percent of sales.
Just some interesting info.
