Here is my newest filtering approach...maybe it will be of use to someone:

Looking at the draws in sort order, I filter on Excel by 1st position, 2nd position and so on.

Here are my results for the upcoming Powerball Draw on 5/4/05:

1st Position: 3-4-6-12-19-20-21-23-25-27-28-29-30-37

2nd: 5-7-22-25-27-33-35-37-38

3rd: 8-12-17-21-22-23-25-27-28-29-35-40-41

4th: 16-24-26-30-31-34-36-37-38-42-43-44-47-49

5th: 17-19-20-24-26-27-30-31-36-42-43-44-45-47-52

There are 11,545 combinations that can be produced from the above numbers.  That's a huge decrease from 2,869,685!

-------------------------------------------------

I was able to peg all 5 numbers by position in the CT Cash 5 game last night...giving me a 640:1 chance of winning $100,000.  Unfortunately my two tickets weren't so lucky.  So we'll see how well I do on the Powerball draw.

Of course these numbers by position are only as good as the system used to pick them in the first place.

Comments?  Ideas?

I just went back and looked at my CT Cash 5 Prep for yesterday.  With additional basic filtering I still had the winning combo 12-20-21-22-30 in my top 205 lines.  $205 = $100,000 ARGGHHHH

What was you strategy in coming up with the numbers per position?  Also, I'm surprised to see the 37 in position 1.  Mega Millions has never once had a 37 in position 1.  (You can use the Search Past Results feature to do a positional search on any game in the USA, Canada, and UK.)

I do believe that every combo is just as likely to be drawn as any other combo.  So while there are only 1800 combos in PB and 1300 in MM that start with 37, 37-40-48-49-51 is no less likely than 6-23-27-34-40.  So I shouldn't preclude 37 from the first position just because it's never shown up.

I use my own mix of Excel filtering and pen/paper stats to choose the numbers that I feel are most likely in the very next draw.  I think this system has a ton of potential and so I'm wary to release specifics about just how I picked those numbers.

How much potential?  The 4/30/05 CT Cash 5 drawing I had every number correct by position....640 combos.  Let's say I'm able to peg all five positions just once a month.  That's around $19,000 (forget the logistics of filling out/printing playslips/buying tix at the moment) a month for a return of $70,000-$75,000 after taxes.  This approach is so brand new to me that it may work once every three months....maybe once a week?  I don't know yet...have to wait and see.

If your not filtering to the amount of ocurrences within a given position, what are you filtering?

You are a slave to the choices you have made.  jk

All the basics....sums, evens/odds, deltas.  And a few wacky ideas I've had not really related to the numbers.  You can make an indicator out of any dvent...you just have to get lucky...just once.  The proof either will, or will not be, in the pudding.

                John,

I'm not sure what happened when you pasted the text from your web site, but it created one long string of characters on the screen, and I had to delete it in order to restore the page back to normal.    Is there anything you can tell me about what happened that might help track down the cause?

Above is the table listing of tracking the MegaMillion Numbers by the row. The listing is set-up such that all numbers that have hit has been accounted for. Also, the numbers that have never hit in each column is removed for clarity. Good Luck to anyone who can make sense of this.

Hmmm...I don't know what to do with those numbers, Sir Metro.

My system hasn't worked the first three drawings in May....but that degree of precision (having the winning line in your top 205 picks), should happen once in every 4.3 years with a 5/35 daily game.  So if I can do it once or twice in the next two months I will be very pleased.

I'm going to give it another go with Powerball at $96m on 5/11.

                        1st: 1-2-3-4-5-6-8-12-14-17-18-22-24-26-28-30-31-35-36-37-38-41-42-43

                        2nd: 6-7-8-16-17-18-19-20-25-29-34-35-37-38-42-45

                        3rd: 14-19-20-22-29-41-45-47

                        4th: 15-24-26-31-32-35-36-37-38-43-46-48-50

                        5th: 19-20-21-23-24-26-27-29-30-31-32-33-36-40-42-43-47-48-49-51

Odds are 114:1 of hitting all numbers by position.
