I emailed the VA lottery yesterday about Lotto South...

Question:

I play both VA and TN lottery and I was wanting to know if TN wanted to

could they join Lotto South or is it strictly limited to GA,KY, and VA?

Answer:

Thank you for writing.  Any southern state can request to join the game

and would be welcome I'm sure.

How are you going to win if you don't play?

Lotto South needs more states AND a bigger (6/53?) matrix.

I still send a letter a week.  Now they don't even respond.

You're sending the letter to the wrong state. Tennessee has to petition Virginia to join the Lotto South.

I sent a letter to VA too.  They said any state southern is welcome to join lotto south.  TN could have it if they want it.  I also sent a letter to GA and they also agreed lotto south would be welcome in any southern state.

I Agree! In fact if TN joined that would surely mean a new matrix and maybe higher jackpots which would help lotto south sales in KY,VA, and GA.  Why would they turn it down?

Tn sales the most tickets between VA and KY.  GA sales slightly more than TN though.  I think there would be enough ticket sales to start out at $3 million and go up $1.5million.

LS needs a new matrix (6/53?) even without expanding to a fourth state.

keep the same matrix with tennessee added to the states, and then let the jackpot rise in accordance with how much money hadn't been paid out so far.  in essence, run it like hot lotto and the jackpot will rise faster when no one wins.

newer matrix = crappier odds.  not something i'd be in favor. the mentality of most lottery ticket buyers is incredible.
