    Hi, I am new here ... but not new to lottery systems, statistics, and scams.  I must have missed the subject of "Root Sums".  I have read some of the posts about it, can you explain how you break these sums down or derive them.

          Every number has a sum when you add the digits together.  For instance 195 = 15.  So the sum is 15, but "root sums" are the sums reduced to ONE digit, so the 1 and 5 need to be added together to give 6.

                You are welcome, Blackapple.  I just beat you to it.  You use the root sums more than I do, but I will tell you something ... I am using root sums to pick my Pick 4 numbers now.  I'm also using root sums to pick my Pick 3 predictions for most of the states I'm doing.
