I give up...... what's the deal? I have tried to post a chart in the Blog forum then Math forum etc. No Luck.

What's the deal with this new digital delay thing? Its like my satellite had rain on the signal.

This is hard.            Actually it's impossible up to now......      What'  sss up?

The only real failure .....is the failure to try.

Odds never change .....but probability does.

Each time I try to post the chart I get a message delay......... then it says

" A SCRIPT ON THIS PAGE IS CAUSING YOUR COMPUTER TO SLOW DOWN ....DO YOU WISH TO ABORT? OR CONTINUE....

Then it times out ..... ?????????      What is the deal  ....its just an old numbers chart i posted a couple times before with some small changes.

I did a Test on the picture above and it was OK....... its just the numbers charts and such that upset the cart.

        Win d-

I too get that message at times; at least I know it's not just me.  I know it does not help the situation, but you can take heart in knowing that you are not alone.  It just started doing this recently for me; and like you, I don't know the cause.

Good luck as you try to figure it out.

If it asks if you want to continue waiting you say "yes".  What the heck is so difficult about that?

The delay is extra error-checking code that runs, because so many people posted charts in the past that screwed up the forum.

If you don't like the delay, use the built-in table creation features.  Or try posting smaller charts.  Or get a faster computer, because YOUR computer determines the speed that the code runs, not the LP server.

              Todd-

For me personally, I really don't care about the error code popping up at times. Also for me, it happens even when I don't want to post charts or things of that nature.

I do have a new computer with cable connection, therefore I have the fastest connection that is available to me in my area for internet access. Type

I will NEVER click yes on anything that I'm not familiar with as there are too many nasty worms and viruses that can harm one's computer.

The message does not ask if one wants to continue waiting, for me is an actual error message that appears, and it states that "by continuing this it can slow down your computer"...well this sounds like something that I don't want my computer to encounter therefore I don't click yes or no, I just exit the window completely and come back in...not a big deal at all and nothing difficult about it.

I'm not sure of the Win d internet connection speed, but I can almost guess he has cable or DSL because faster connections are pretty much the norm now.

Also another factor can be that newer computers have MANY security features that are automatically installed as well as others using Norton or other security features and this too can have a factor.  This is why I didn't find it to be a big deal because I do have a lot of security features installed on my computer as I'd rather have too much than not enough and encounter a nasty bug, virus, or worm.

So at times, new computers can be the cause of sites not being displayed properly...not always that one's computer is too slow. Wink

I'm certain that Win d will figure out what he's attempting to post very soon. Win d I believe in you! LOL

I only wanted to let Win d know that I have also experienced this message. White Bounce

                   I get a warning !

......with a new computer and my high speed connection DSL that little chart only took about three minutes to post. Unlike the old way of around one second. The chart of Joesph77 and mine froze in place. Then the place where the Warning appeared blanked out

The WARINING message reads like this.....

A script on this page is causing Internet explorer to run slowly if it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.

Do you want to Abort your Script?

                       Yes  or  No

Thats OK ....I've figured out a way to make all these little "Pesky LITTLE Problems" simply go away ....no big deal at all really.......................... POOF !

                            CLICK !

That warning message are there so that you don't get an out-of-control script that hangs your PC.  With Lottery Post's editor, it is safe to click yes, and you should in fact click yes.

Also, the limiting factor is NOT the Internet connection speed, like cable modem or dial-up, it is only based on the performance of your PC itself.  For example, those with an Athlon 64 FX-55 (like me Big Grin) will post a complex message faster than someone with a Pentium 4 or Pentium 3.

By the way, for anyone considering an upgrade to their PC, I highly recommend getting a computer based on the Athlon 64 FX-55, plus at least 1GB RAM, a 250GB SATA hard disk, and a good fast video card.  You'll be happy as a clam for years if you do.

Plus, check my Blog about a month or two ago for a review I did on the Microsoft Fingerprint Reader / Wireless Mouse.  The best accessory ever.

Heck...and I thought I was doing ok with this ole 1945 black & white tv connected to an ole IBM selectric type writer (finally upgraded from that manual type writer) and a cute little white mouse tied to it all (tried wireless, but it kept running off). Now if PETA will stop harrassing me everytime I kill the mouse, life would be so much easier.

BTW...somebody pull that string tighter, the tin can is not transmitting those blips as good as it was.

this clunker i'm using is over 5 yrs old packed to the max with all the hardware it can handle. keeping it clean and doing maintenance is a must. Modem connected. I will admit i have trouble posting to some threads and blogs for some reason many times things i post don't appear like i typed them. Spaces between lines are not there. Numbers that were in order when i typed them are are connected to one another like if i type 1234 5678 it posts like 12345678 all stuck together. Then i have to edit the post to get it to post right.

I don't think this pc or my server likes the new editor. Or when i used some of it's features it didn't go back to the defalut mode. I can't explain everything i have encountered while using the new editor. But i am living with the fact that either i'm a dimwit or lost as to how to go about using it other than plain and simple text. I'm not complaing about this just chalking it up to a learning experiance. This post had two paragraphs when i typed it. With one space in the middle of it. What do i have to do to keep a space between paragraphs. I have had to put a horozantal rule in many posts to seperate paragraphs.

Pss edit figures when i write something about a problem then post it it comes out right so it really looks like i'm a dimwit. This is only one post in so many that i didn't have to edit to get to like like i typed it.
