Highest jackpot claimed to date in Ohio

CLEVELAND…Mardele Cohen, Deputy Director of the Ohio Lottery’s Office of Communications, announced today that the Attorneys-in-Fact for the pool of seven workers who won the $170 million Mega Millions jackpot have come forward to claim the prize on behalf of their clients. The winners of the July 22 drawing chose the cash option on the jackpot prize, splitting approximately $103 million before taxes.

The pool of winners purchased their winning ticket at Convenient Food Mart #375, located at 161 Richmond Street in Painesville. The Convenient Food Mart receives a $100,000 agent bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Ohio retailers also sold three winning tickets at the $250,000 prize level for the July 22 drawing. These winning tickets were sold at Save Four Store in Garrettsville, Lagrange Party Center in Lagrange, and Smoke for Less in Springfield. David Everhart of Springfield held the $250,000 winning ticket purchased at Smoke for Less. The other two second-tier prizes remain unclaimed.

    Looks like Roger Bartlett and Tonya Winters spent half as much as the other pool members, but $8.6M is still a nice share.

     * you don't need to buy more tickets, just buy a winning ticket *

            Congratulations to the 7 co-workers in OH. CA, maybe next time for MM. It's at 23 million for Tuesday 8/2/05.
