Has a firm date been set for the upcoming Powerball matrix change?  I checked the main Powerball site and don't see any information.  I travel from central MD to PA to buy Powerball tickets.  Since gas is so expensive I only travel once every 4 weeks and buy advance draw tickets for 8 draws.  I assume as the change over approaches, advance draws are limited.  I need to know when the last drawing of the current matrix will be so I can be prepared for my trips.

Why not DC or WV? PA has Unlucky for Life instead of Hot Lotto.

CO - PA is closer to me than WV, and the traffic in DC is horrible (not to mention the neighborhoods on the east side (nearest me) are horrible.  I buy my PB tickets in a small town just north of the MD border in Shrewsbury, PA - 1st exit in PA on interstate 83.

The first draw using the new matrix is scheduled for August 31, 2005.

        Good luck,

A simple search of the News forum reveals the date.

Just type Powerball in the Search For input space, and select News in the Search Forum (to search all news articles), then click Start Search.

When you do that, this is what you get (click the link):

          http://www.lotterypost.com/search.asp?p=1&q=powerball&m=l&i=s&f=11&d=90&s=dd

The 11th news story from the top is Powerball lottery to implement changes.  That story will tell you all about the change.

(I put this together to help you the next time you're looking for something like this.  The Search feature is pretty good, especially if you set the options to narrow your search.)

Thanks Todd - I never use the search feature, but will the next time.

It also has Match 6, which is a heck of a lot better than Powerball's Runty Twin.

I'd actually prefer Hot Lotto over Match 6.  I really don't like that game (personal preference).

Hmmm. Well I did e-mail them about adding a $1 single line option.

I'm actually looking forward to new Powerball.

... the lottery never fails to surprise!

Well hopefully they can break 100 million more than this year. I think Mega has more potential now of larger jackpots even after Powerball switches to the new matrix.
