All concepts are 1 dollar in price, are pari-mutuel, pay out 50% of sales, and pay annuities over 30 years.

Concept 1 :

Pick 6 out of 49

Avg. Prize

Odds

Prize Pool %

Match 6

Min. $2Mil AV

Min. $1Mil CV

1 : 13,983,816

63%

Match 5

$2,500

1 : 54,201

9.25%

Match 4

$50

1 : 1,032

9.75%

Match 3

$5

1 : 57

18%

Pros : Better Odds.

Cons : Identical matrix to Lotto South, which would be counter-productive in attracting Hampton Roads players.

Concept 2 :

Pick 6 out of 52

Avg. Prize

Odds

Prize Pool %

Match 6

Min. $3Mil AV

Min. $1.5Mil CV

1 : 20,358,520

63%

Match 5

$3,500

1 : 73,763

9.8%

Match 4

$60

1 : 1,311

9.2%

Match 3

$6

1 : 67

18%

Pros : Bigger prizes, better jackpot potential.

Cons : High odds may discourage players seeking PB/MM alternative.

Lotto South

Pros : Uh, it already exists? Anyone?

Cons : Too many chefs will spoil the soup. Too many players will spoil the game. And GA, KY, NC, and VA all in a pick-6 game of any size would get winners all the time. No, it couldn't work. Could it?

I like the first concept.  Although it's much like lotto south it's all about the odds in my opinion.

How are you going to win if you don't play?

I can't believe Lotto South is leading in the poll. What is so special about that game?!

Better for who, the lottery commission or players?  Better would be any game whose field can be divided evenly by the number of numbers you play. ie: a 6/48 game would be better then a 6/45 game for players.  BobP

If you ever go to Massachusetts, play Cash Winfall. It's $2 a play, but I think you'll like it.

I say Lotto South, if they go to a bigger matrix.

The Lotto South matrix is high enough now.  Period.  Approve

Lotto South is a regular state Lotto and is not nor should be ratcheted up into the category of Mega Millions or Powerball.

There have to be some games with sensible matrices, lower jackpots and payouts that people can enjoy playing and actually win sometimes.  Case in point Georgia Fantasy 5 has retained the same 5-39 matrix but has begun giving away a free QP for 2 numbers, then has increased lower tier payouts by calculating the game strictly on a parimutuel basis.  Excellent move on their part!!  Big Grin

                  Good luck to everyone!

Lotto South is great the way it is.  If it isn't broke don't fix it.  The game isn't designed like Powerball or Mega Millions.  It's not mean't to be a mega multi Million dollar game like everyone wants it to be.

I agree what Tnplayer had said. I think the multi million dollar lotto south is fine for a few states.
