I was hoping that he would beat it also. I have been seeing such progress with an agressive surgery specifically on patients with lung cancer in the hospital that I work in. His cancer must have been in an avanced stage.

My condolence goes out to his family and friends

He was a great professional, my wife's favorite of the "Big 3"  Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw, and Dan Rather.  I was a Rather guy!  Peter was special, and I stayed up last night and was astounded to learn that he was a high school drop out!  I always thought he had an Ivy League background.  He now has become even more remarkable in my eyes with his determination and laser focus.

My man Peter, you'll be missed.
