I posted this in my blog before, but I'll put here so it can get more exposure. I think I'll send this to the New York lottery. It might be a longshot considering NY state legislature is very stingy about the lottery, and they have to approve every game. But 1 in a million shot is always better than a 0 in a million shot.

We took the rolldowns and great payouts from Take Five, and the rolling jackpots, the bonus ball, and the great price from New York Lotto. What we got was our most exciting game ever.

Pick 5 numbers out of 55, and do it again because you get two plays for a dollar. Then watch the drawings every night and see if you're a winner. The jackpots start at $50,000. And they could even reach $1 Million in cash. But when it does hit a million, and there's still no winner, all the money in jackpot rolls down to all the prize levels. And now you get a cash prize for match 2 out of 5! But you can still get 2 free plays with Instant Take Five.

The real question with NY changing its games is: What is the payback?

This version pays out 50%, like Take Five.

Picking 5 out of 39 is less than 1 in 600,000.  But 5 out of 55 is HORRENDOUS odds!

Gee, you don't work for the lottery, do you?

Hoorendous odds for 1 for a $1. But you get 2 for a dollar. And secondly, you have to make the matrix high, because any lower and it would never Winfall, because people would win all the time. Whatever games New York has will be popular (except Pick 10, which is good game, just probably has too many numbers to pick).

The last time it was a 5 out of 55 game was with Musl game called Rolldown before it changed to Hot Lotto in 2002. I hope it doesn't flop like the Rolldown from Musl.

you have a good idea, but it may not work well with players.  i think they would like the 2 for $1, but the odds are a bit big, even if you divide them by 2.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.
