I am having problems updating my draws onto Lotto Pro 2005 & would like to ask if there is any computer genius that might be able to tell me why I can not update anymore.

I am told that it might be a firewall up that prevents me from updating ?????

I don't know anything much about computers (other than how to surf the net)

Can anyone help me because the company sure won't assist me (and I have asked >5 times in the past 2-3 months)

when I update I go to download and the update files. Then I hit minimize key and open up my update drawing file hit update and it takes care of it.

Won't work.  Now something is preventing the update that use to occur without any problems before.

I have not had any problems updating or getting assistance from them. I actually just received a reply e-mail from them in regards to updating my files also.

First, make sure your subscription is still active, make sure firewall are off by going to control panel, network connection...right click on LAN then make sure there is no check in the firewall box, if you have Norton Security...make sure it's not enabled when trying to update files.  If you've done all those steps you should be alright updating files unless you entered your username or password incorrectly.

I hope it helps.  Again, I've NEVER had any problems with the support staff.  They are VERY fast in replying to all my e-mails.

Sorry you are having trouble updating...if you still can't figure it out PM me and I will try to help you as much as possible.  I can forward a copy of my e-mail over to you if need be.

          Good Luck!!!

Thanks Winner2be.  That is what I need--my hand held thru what I should do.  And CrazyinGA, I will defrag & try it again.

              Loot,

If you have Windows firewall enabled ---go to control panel > windows firewall settings > exceptions tab > make sure the box by proupdate and the box by update lotto pro both have a check in them. Get out of that and make sure lotto pro is not running, then double click the update icon.

              Should be no problem

Upon trying the above, Message reads

"Due to unidentified problem, windows can not display firewall settings"

                  Why would this occur????

Further investigation revealed that my firewall was not on & I am unable to turn it on.

Does anyone know where I should go in order to have this problem fixed?

                    try http://www.experts-exchange.com/

In most cases your problem will be solved in a matter of minutes. (but ofcourse it is sunday today... so it might actually take up to an hour or even two...)

Are you running Windows XP Service Pack 2?

If so, this might help you out: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/sharedaccess.htm

                      If not, more info?

Yes.  This looks like the message that I received.  I will see if this helps.

                          I got it to update.

                          I reloaded AOL 9.0.

Finally--maybe now I can be state specific.

                          Thanks for everyone's help.
