This has all the annual reports from 1995-2000. And I found out a lot of interesting stuff, such as:

  • Like Lotto, Take Five used to only pay 40%. It went to 50% in 1995.
  • Lotto used to have seperate jackpots for the Wednesday and Saturday draws. The Wednesday draws started at $3Mil, and increased by about $6Mil with every draw. The Saturday draws started at $4Mil, and increased by about $10Mil with every draw. In 1996, the jackpots for both draws merged, and a cash option was added.
  • The old Local Lotto regions consisted of NYC, Long Island, the Upstate region, and the Western region. They all shared the same numbers, but it was all different beyond that.

Take Five always has paid out 50% since it started in 1992. Cash 40, which was replaced by T5, had a 40% payout.

          Jimmy:

The prize return on Take Five has ALWAYS been 50%. If anything, the prizes in T5 have dropped slightly with the Instant Take Five scratch, which began in 1999.
