Brad this is one of the ones that I suggested--

Hi *****.

Thanks very much for your suggestion. I'm not sure who your suggestions
went to in the past, but I will make sure they get to the proper people
this time around.

Thanks for playing the Michigan Lottery!

I have been trying to tell the MSL for years to have a game with two
jackpots...maybe call it Michigan Double Jackpot.

Here is how it would work-

You would have a normal game that is 6/42 with prizes for matching 4,5,
and 6 numbers
The game would cost $1

For an extra dollar you would go only for a SECOND jackpot.

You would get BOTH jackpots by matching all 6 out of 42 and, after
paying the extra dollar, picking and matching another seperatly drawn
symbol  such as J, A, C, K, P, O, or T

That way people who like better odds, get better odds and people who
like big jackpots and longer odds could pay another dollar(that would
only go to the bigger jackpot) and go for the bigger jackpot.

That way someone may win the first jackpot but the other might still
roll over.

Maybe they will listen to you?

Thanks,

It is an interesting concept....we just need something different than the 6/47 style game.  It's too boring and players don't play it here anymore.  Just look at Classic Lotto 47....It started in May and we haven't seen a jackpot bigger than 6 million and it only has been won twice before now.

The Nightly Keno game here is really nice.  They could apply the concept to Keno by

having a Jackpot Keno game that would cost $2. $1 would go to the regular Keno prize structure and the second $1 would go to the jackpot.  To win the jackpot you would need to match 10 numbers and the "Key Ball" (the key ball would unlock the jackpot!)  Thus you would have 10/22/80, and K, E, N, or O and you would win the whole shebang.

I have been suggesting things like this for some time because I can see where they could easily charge $2 or $3 for online tickets that would be fun and different.

Michigan does not need to team up with any other state they just need some good ideas.

Anway I think you can see the variations on the theme where you could have a second jackpot for another dollar and a "non-jackpot" multiplier(aka megaplier) for yet another dollar...etc...etc so they could give the player a choice of spending up to $4 per ticket.

Once again, KICKER = Bad deal!

If you consider a 1x a loss and a 2x a push then if you check this out-

        http://milottery.state.mi.us/msl-ck-results.php

you will see what a bad deal kicker is.  They should have made it more like "megaplier".

If Michigan ever does a Jackpot Keno I hope they have a megaplier rather than a kicker!

Todd has there been a thread that discussed game ideas before?  Obviously I missed it if there was.  Anyway

I have come up with umpty bajillion ideas that I have suggested to MI in the past.

          Maybe Three/Four Cashpot?

The game would cost $2  50 cents would go to a 3 digit 2-way ticket and 50 cents would go to a 2-way 4 digit ticket and the other dollar would go to a jackpot.  If you matched both the 3 digit number and 4 digit number in exact order(straight) you would win the jackpot.

The third and fourth dollar could piggyback as a second jackpot and a megaplier.

I think that years ago my mail disappeared into some black hole at MSL.

            Another Idea that disappeared

            Michigan Megapot

you start with a 4 digit game and you have five ballsets for each digit.

The ballsets would be 0 to 9 in each of 5 or more colors.

so there would be a red, orange, green, blue, and purple 0 to 9 for each digit (you could use black, white, silver, gold etc...also)

$1 would go to a 2-way color bet

$1 would go to a 2-way number bet

$1 would go to a jackpot for matching both the colors and numbers straight.

            $1 Megaplier

            $1 second jackpot

Thats an interesting concept....$5 a ticket though.  Might be a little strectch there.  All I know if that Michigan needs to try something else.  Classic Lotto 47 is just not cutting it anymore at all.

                Bradly_60 says "$5 a ticket though"

I guess I should clarify that all of these should be taken flexibly.

Double jackpot could be either a $2 game or MSL could give the player the option of Making it a $1 + $1 game

Jackpot Keno would be a $2 game with the $1 second Jackpot and the $1 megaplier being the players choice

Three/Four Cashpot would of course have the 3 digit and 4 digit numbers printed on the same ticket and this could either be a $2 or $3  (or more see below)game with second jackpot ($1)  and megapliers($1) as optional for the player

Michigan Megapot could be a $2 or $3 game (depending on whether you wanted 50 cents or $1 on each 2-way bet or {MSL could even allow up to $10 bets on these 2-ways...the point is flexibilty for the player})  and $1 for the jackpot (not flexible) and $1 for the megaplier (not flexible) and $1 for the second jackpot(not flexible)

so all these games would be at least $2 .  More, depending on what choices the player has.

I like the idea of two jackpots.  One that is usually won before too long and one that gets big so you could win a decent amount and still have something else to shoot for.

I have sent dozens of ideas and continue to get ignored...maybe they take them all too literally?

Well Ok. I'll give this topic a rest.  I hope Mich gets some kind of game with two jackpots.  I can come up with all kinds of game ideas but I guess nobody else likes the idea of two jackpots for the same game.
