  An increasing number of tribal casinos in New Mexico are offering surrender on the blackjack games.

  I've seen a lot of practices among players in their use of surrender, but the most commonly held view among those who use it at all is to surrender 15s and 16s against dealer aces through 9s.

  Generally the dealers hate it because it means making change, sometimes even having to break dollar chips.  They almost always advise against it.

  But the books suggest using it as a tool, same as any other.  Most advise surrendering any 15 or 16 against a dealer ace, 9, or 10.

  What are your thoughts in such a situation?

  Since I can count cards in my head. I never surrender unless needed.

  Learn to count cards in your head....some think this is cheating. I don't think so...I use it has a way to narrow my odds down to what the next card will be. I'm not always right either. It's also like predicting lotto #'s for the next draw...

  I have never seen anyone surrender at a casino when I was playing or watching.
