Remember the story about the couple in Colorado who claimed their $4.6 million Lotto jackpot a few weeks ago at the last minute of the 180 day expiration?
Well here's another Colorado Lotto story that's also unbelievable from today's (1/1/06) Denver Post. Theresa Smith goes to buy a Powerball ticket on December 21st, but the clerk mistakenly prints out a Colorado Lotto ticket instead. She decides to keep it.
After the drawing, she takes the ticket to a lottery outlet, but the clerk can't verify it because another drawing is occuring at the same time which prevents the ticket from being validated. The clerk figures that the ticket is a loser and asks her if she wants him to tear it up. She says no and takes the ticket back. She then checks the local paper for results and sees the she has the winning jackpot numbers for $2.5 million.
See if you an beat that one.
