Texas Lotto jackpot went up just 2.5% from 40 to 41 million. At the same time, California Lotto jackpot went up 7.7% from 52 to 56 million and New York Lotto jackpot went up 6.5% from 31 to 33 million.

What gives?

One reason is this, Lotto Texas gets lower sales than the in-state games in CA and NY. Another reason is both CA SLP and NY Lotto uses a graduated annuity system like Powerball, which creates a bigger advertised jackpot. Lotto Texas on the other hand uses a traditional equal payment system, like Mega Millions.

Texas is under a lot of scrutiny at the moment so's they're having to tell the truth about jackpot sizes.  The others have a little elbow room.

Is Texas Lotto going to guarantee jackpots or they are based on sales? When is Texas Lotto will go to guarantee jackpots?
