I need a formula that I can put into a cell in a chart that will add +1 to any number. Can anyone help?

if your numbers are in individual columns (first digit in A1, second digit in B1, third digit in C1)

you could easily put the new numbers in E1,F1 and G1

    simple, E1 enter  = A1+1

but, that will make a 9 a 10, since you probably want to avoid that,in E1 enter

    =IF(A1+1>9,(A1-10)+1,(A1+1))

this adds a 1 to any number and if it'sa 9, makes it a zero...

(F1 would work on B1 and G1 would work on C1)

    is that what you meant?

not exactly..say for instance a number hit 10 draws ago and I want for my chart to be able to count the draws since..

         LOL,

Are you looking for a formula to count the skips of each digit? I use the formula below.

        Carbob

         =IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH(H17,$B$9:$B$3314,0)),MATCH(H17,$B$9:$B$3314,0)-1,"")

          No..that is not it either..

I want a formula that will add +1 to 424 which is the draws out since this particular number hit.  Each day that goes by will add +1 to the draws already out.

if 424 is in a cell (let's say F424), then cell F425 can be

            =F425+1

what chart type are you using?

              Very confusing LoLady.

Is this for pick 3/pick 4 or what?

Are you speaking of a particular digit going by or a particular combo?

              Please be more specific?

                424*

let's say this is all in row 1.

                replace 424* with =NOW()-B1

format E1 as a number (zero decimal places)

Now, it makes sense to me.

But shouldn't it be =Now()+B1 or am I confused again???

                    time*treat has the right idea..

the date by the number would represent the last appearance...

NOW() returns the date (and time.... time is to the right of the decimal so no decimal places eliminates it) for right now... so now()-B1 would be the time interval between the last match and right now...

it does work out... nice one t*t!

                      Lotta,

eXceL internally treats dates as a number, each day being 1 higher than the previous day. So you take the day "Now" and subtract a smaller previous day to get the difference in days. Your formula will be useful once you get really good at predicting future drawings, though. Wink
