Utilizing the active tactic of nonviolence, as opposed to passivity which it is not, Dr. King was able to confront the powers that be with their oppressive tactics, confront the unjust war Vietnam was (let alone how the majority of soldiers were minorities), and articulate the heart and mind of God (which is what a true prophet does) despite being flawed (like the rest of us not perfect).
Throughout it all Mrs. King stood by her husband to advance the cause of peace and justice while challenging the war machine and those who were profiting from it monetarily, which robbed the underclass of that which they needed to become economically empowered.
She knew full well their marriage might very well end in tragedy, and it did. Yet she continued to be a good steward of her time and her husband's teachings and life's work after his death.
May she rest in peace.
