I think the best times to play are on rare occasions.
Here's an example:
      http://www.lotterypost.com/thread/128422
This says a pattern of 2, 3, or more back-to-back doubles, is rare.

Can anyone think of other rare patterns to look out for?

Yes NodWhen the same number fall midday and evening.  The pick 4 will sometimes follow the same pattern.  It may not be the best time to play but a grand opportunity to catch one on that pattern.

I think the 3 doubles is good...but I've seen stretches when 7 doubles hit in a row.

The North Carolina Education Lottery - so much a joke that here are their mascots:

Wait that gives me an idea...

              It's all about grouping numbers.

Let's see, with pick 3, here are some group types:
               6-way #s
               3-way #s
               1-way #s
               EEO #s
               OOE #s
               EEE #s
               OOO #s
               HHH
               HHL
               LLH
               LLL

Does anyone know any other group types?

SmashThe best think to do to a double is to mirror it, play the total and mate and the straight if you know it.

                Example 369, 366,336

I think when a single digit has hit more than 4 times in a row, it's a good time to start playing groups of numbers without that digit.

I think when a single digit has not hit more than 10 times in a row, it's a good time to start playing groups of numbers with that digit.

I've done all of those overdue tests...the best way to approach those is to figure out your bar (i.e., 10 days a digit is out) and then apply a progression to it.

                            Every 5 draws:

Look for 0 or 1 within a combo

Look for Double or Double vtracs

Look for All odd or all even
