Lottery Universe has a maximum payout of $1 million even if you have won a larger jackpot.

See the email from them when I requested an explanation:

When you play at Lottery Universe you can receive up to $1,000,000.  Remember, we are giving you the opportunity to play your numbers as if you were buying the ticket, when in fact you are not.  You are placing a bet with us that your numbers will win. You cannot buy lottery tickets over the internet.

If I may clarify, in early 2004, Federal and State laws prohibited the Lottery from selling tickets via "phone -- mail -- fax -- and internet."  Lottery Universe was sold in March 2004 and the changes were communicated to customers via email at that time.  Additionally, all changes we posted on the web site at that time.  Lottery Universe made all reasonable efforts to communicate these changes to our customers.  Due to spam filters we were aware some customers would not receive the notification which is why we posted it on the site Hence the results are independently verifiable on the state lottery websites so that you feel comfortable with our site, and we pay you for your winnings up to $1,000,000, this money is not funded by the lottery, but by us.  In summary, Lottery Universe is based on state lotteries not the lottery itself.  Therefore, there are no additional winnings.  Our jackpots are insured by Lloyds.

Thank you for being a valued customer. We appreciate your business and we look forward to providing you with the best customer service possible. You opinion matters and we value your feedback. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions please feel free to email us at any time.

This is no mystery.  Anyone who has read the forums at Lottery Post would know about that horrendous web site, and would steer clear of it.

Why anyone would spend their money there, just to throw it away like that, is nuts.

It is such a scam.  They make you think you're playing the real lotto games, and then they put in the fine print that the max payout is $1 million.  Who even knows if they would pay that, since they don't even buy the real lottery tickets inthe first place.
