Mega Millions is new here in California.  Do the large jackpot lotteries like Mega Millions and Powerball give any money up front when a winning ticket is presented ? I know Super Lotto didn't the last time that I heard.......

No, they don't. You have to wait two weeks for the state to collect from all the other participating lotteries.

I'm guessing at least a full month at the earliest between when the ticket is presented and the actual check is recieved. Verification alone takes a while.

so if you do win there is a window of about a month or more before you'll even see any money.that means if you win a jackpot you don't get to go out the next day and buy cars and houses,lol.....

In Powerball's case and I'm guessing Megamillions it's 60 days. That's when the winner must choose cash or annuity.

Two weeks seems a little quick. Are you referring to the full jackpot payout or an initial advance on the jackpot winnings ?
