Florida will be electing a new governor in November, as Jeb Bush is barred from running for a third term.

Should joining Powerball be the #1 issue for Florida voters?

I'm sure Florida has a large number of issues that need to be addressed ahead of a decision on PowerBall - illegal aliens, disaster prepardness to name just two.

No. No. No. Powerball would be nice, but we Floridians (O.K. I live in PA now but I grew up and plan on moving back to FL) have an awful education system that needs fixing (enough so that '02 Dem. nominee Bill McBride based his whole campaign on it), not to mention we were promised a high speed train which Jeb Bush derailed. Priorities, man.

PB is great and all but I don't think it's one of the top issues right now.  How about hurricane preparedness??? With this hurricane cycle that we are in now their focus needs to be on large scale evacuations and health hazards.  It really shouldn't even be an issue.  If FL lottery wants it and the new Governor ok's it there isn't much to that.  More focus should be put on other issues within the state.  I think most of everyone would agree.

How are you going to win if you don't play?

I hope you're kidding. If that's an issue, Florida is in worse shape than I thought.

If Florida joins Powerball, Powerball would probably raise its matrix again.

Florida probably has the most to lose with global warming, between the heat and the rising seas.

                      Groan.....Thud

I guess the rising seas created by Global Warming will flood the number machines creating the lottery commission a lot of trouble. I hate it when the balls get wet !!

Yes, now I can see where this would rank very high on the priority list.
