North Carolina Lottery announced that it will be starting the Pick 3 even earlier than anticipated. It di not state whether or not it would be computerized or balls. I personally have more faith in the balls.

Question 1: Has any one ever tracked a states pick three lotto from the start? Computerize or Balls?

      Genius

When did they announce that? I haven't dug around to look, but was just curious. That would be great!

Just saw on the website the press release. That is exciting. 7 days a week. The bad thing is that it's drawn near 11pm...late!

The official post is on their website:

           http://www.nc-educationlottery.org/uploads/CarolinaCash5-Pick3.pdf

It stated that it would start in October - A clerk at a gas station said that it was starting in a few weeks.

The Press release actually states that one of the games would start earlier than expected which I presumed would be the pick three. So the clerk was right. I am ready, I've been waiting for a long time now!

Pick 1 chart seem to be a great place to start since there is no data or patterns.

Carolina 5 is also coming 5/38 game

EDUCATION LOTTERY COMMISSION APPROVES PLANS FOR NEW ONLINE GAMES

RALEIGH- The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) Commission today approved
plans for two new online games to be introduced this fall. The NCEL expects to launch
"Carolina Pick 3" in October and "Carolina Cash 5" in November.

"We have had so many player requests for these games that we are going to introduce
at least one of them a little earlier than first planned," said Tom Shaheen, NCEL
executive director. "By doing this, we'll continue to give players what they want and with
every game we introduce, we increase the revenues for education."

The on-line games will allow a player to pick a series of numbers from defined fields of
numbers, or have the computer choose the numbers. "Carolina Cash 5" will have
potential top prizes of $50,000 or much higher, if there are no jackpot winners. The
jackpot amount grows until there is a winner. The largest potential payout for a single
winner on "Carolina Pick 3" will be a set amount of $500, which mirrors what other
            lotteries offer in nearby states.

Shaheen added that players tend to like these games because they have lower odds
than lotto-type games such as Powerball, even though the top prizes are a lot less. Both
games would start with one drawing seven days a week. The drawings will take place at
WRAL-TV in Raleigh and will be shown live during the latter part of the 11 p.m. newscast.

These games are called "on-line" games because tickets are purchased through the
lottery gaming system. On-line game tickets are not purchased over the internet. The
word on-line is used because the terminals used to validate and dispense the tickets
connect the retailer's terminal to a centralized computer system via satellite.

For more information about the NCEL visit its Web sites at www.nc-educationlottery.org
            or call (919) 715-6886.
