I don't know why guys, but ever since i got addicted to the lottery, all i can think of it the lottery...I tend to think symbollically too...Even though i may be criticized by this, i don't expect you to understand it but only for the very few viewers that can...Today i went and see the movie "Miami vice" and there was a part where three snipers with long range rifles, with silencers and 1 eye binoculars, were shooting at 2 FBI undercovered members, and all i could think about was (Symbollically) what if instead of rifles with silencers, they had guys that were lottery snipers, guys that could hit the game consistently with 1 shot fired symbollically speaking sort of speak, in other words with 1 or a handful of combinations???Of course the game will have to be easy too....People with silencer technology that people are not even supposed to have...Same thing with the lottery, some smart guys outhere perhaps in the black market with lottery technology that sort of speak, they not supposed to have, technology like a supercomputer to himself or herself or the greatest mathematicians, combinatorics mathematicians, probability mathematicians at his/her dispossal....LOL: )

Not only that but to come up with lottery configurations to make things better, like creating a gigantic lottery that works like a gigantic stock market...

Another TV thing that got me thinking symbollically was some news i heard a while back, where a guy drove a ARMY TANK, to a SEVEN  ELEVEN, and i know this things are dangerous, but all i could think was what if you compared that to a guy going to a seven eleven with let's say with 10,000 DEADLY lotto combinations/wheel to play at that one gas station, it will be as dangerous as driving a seven eleven into a gas station LOL : )  Of course not but hope you get what i am saying....To think the way i think you have to think with the left side of your brain, think symbolically...

Another movie i saw was "Inside Man", and it got me thinking symbollically, what if a guy got a way with it, but in this case won the lottery easily and there was no one to stop him...A professional, someone that knew he could do it again...By the way, great movie...And another movie was the Thomas Crown Affair, but in this case there weren't paintings but lottery tickets...LOL...funny ain't

I don't know but i think of this as a new enlightenment, a new way of thinking...All of course to do with the lottery & the stock market...

I'm not completely following the rational side of the symbolism in your thinking, but if it gets you any closer to cashing a lottery ticket, more power to you. The vast majority of people lose money on lottery play, so I suppose it might require some outside-the-box thinking in order to get ahead of the games.

    Good luck,

you just said something that struck a chord with me.the lottery is a like a stock market.the thing is the only stock market the government wants you to play is one where you are at their mercy.thats why they hate the online gambling so much is that they can't control the action.yes there are plenty of losers but there are also winners winning piles of money and they are controlling their own destiny that is not determined by the governments hand.you see they have to control the outcome of everything these days.they are trying to take away rights that belong to us and always have belonged to us.the last time i checked we didn't live in china but thats what its heading toward.i want to be able to make my own decisions without some pimp who passes their self off as a senator tries to tell me what i can and can't do.its perfectly ok to let child porn have a place on the net but they must get rid of gamblers??? i think they need a bill banning child porn on the internet what do you think?  well they don't think its important to ban something that hurts kids because after all they really aren't losing billions of dollars over something like that so its not worth it.money rules at the end of the day but some twisted and backward things are taking place because some guys in suits and ties are getting very greedy and way too powerful.i don't vote and they are all jackasses anyway.you'll find a few that are decent but they are few and far between.somewhere along the way we got off the right path.i'm thinking there is still time to get on the right path as long as the american people have a god given right to choose as they please.its one of our rights as citizens of this country......thanks.

Congress bets it can grab power over gambling

House wants to outlaw all attempts to place wagers over the Internet

The House of Representatives voted 245 to 159 to pass the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act of 1999. Because of a rule requiring two-thirds approval, the measure didn't pass. Its sponsor, Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., plans to introduce it again when only a majority is needed for passage.

If enacted, it would "amend the federal criminal code to make it unlawful for any person engaged in a gambling business to knowingly use the Internet or any other interactive computer service to: (1) place, receive or otherwise make a bet or wager; or (2) send, receive, or invite information assisting in the placing of a bet or wager." Criminal penalties include fines and up to five years' imprisonment.

There is absolutely no constitutional authority for this disgusting abuse of federal power. But most Americans, who think Congress has a right to do anything for which they can get a majority vote, ignore the clearly written constitutional restraints on Congress.

The key restraint here is the Tenth Amendment, which holds that all powers not enumerated in the Constitution belong to the people and the states. Of course, congressmen might pretend they have such authority under the "commerce clause," their standard excuse to grab power.

        Slippery slope

Congress' constitutional contempt is nothing new, but this latest act is quite a step down the slippery slope toward greater control of our lives. Let's look at some of their justifications. Rep. Goodlatte says, "Internet gambling is a scourge on our society. It causes innumerable problems in our society." Rep. John Duncan, R-Tenn., says, "The Internet is addictive for many people anyway, and online gambling can be doubly addictive." Most other justifications follow the same line of reasoning; namely, there are Americans who don't know what's good for them, and it's the job of Congress to stop them from personal indiscretions. The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act gives Congress the authority to go to an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and order that they not provide linkages to online gambling establishments. If you think Congress will be satisfied with restrictions only on gambling establishments, you're going to be disappointed. After all, the Internet provides people with access to other establishments that can be said to "cause innumerable problems in our society." There are various hate groups with Internet sites that spew vile propaganda. There are pornographic sites. There are sites that present political ideas or religious fanaticism that are offensive to many people and can "cause innumerable problems in our society."

If the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act is approved, it will become a precedent for congressional control over other aspects of the Internet and an important loss in our liberty. Let's follow the money and ask who benefits should the law be passed. What about legal gambling establishments in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and elsewhere? From their revenue point of view, they'd be happy to see less online gambling competition.

What about federal, state and local governments? Online gambling, most of which is offshore, doesn't create any tax revenue for them. The bill focuses on online games such as poker, blackjack and sports betting but exempts taxable state-regulated gambling such as lotteries and horse racing.

        A new Prohibition

If people want to gamble online, they are going to gamble online. The only thing the act will accomplish is, like Prohibition, to make criminals out of otherwise law-abiding people. It will turn banks and other financial institutions into government snoops.

Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., said, "If an adult in this country, with his own money, wants to engage in an activity that harms no one, how dare we bar it." I second that and add, since protection of "the children" often serves as an excuse to restrict our liberties, that if children get involved, let their parents, not Congress, deal with it.

IF we are going to go into politics, What they need to do is erradicate drugs out of this planet...A drug dealer is not your brother...Not go against people that take it but people that sell it..That and increase the pay of police officers, which is sad to see a country's police officers get paid so little...They need to eliminate of this planet drug sellers...

your right.whats sad is how teachers and police officers are paid so little.the ones that teach and protect barely get paid in most cases 40,000 a year if that much in a lot of places.at least where i'm from they get paid low wages.but why? they deserve more........

Nicely said LottoMike. It really erks me when immoral politicians try to impose THEIR ideas of morality onto us, the public at large, when it's as plain as the nose on your face, that the reasons for their escapades into changing most of our activities with a law has a monetary intent behind it.

It also erks me when companies impose radical changes in their profit making affords that directly affects each and everyone of us, and then they boast about how much they made, (ie; gas companies and the Maryland State Lottery)

A projectile with super-sonic velocity can't be silenced because of the sonic boom.  Lottery-snipers who wanted a chance for a second shot would have to keep it sub-sonic or the lotteries would duck.

Before making an overgeneralized statement please research . Las Vegas cops make a minimum of 75 K a year! Los angeles, same thing. I assure you I can LIVE nicely on that amount without saying I need a raise! Check the state sites for average pay . You'd be surprised how much these careers average and how little work they really do to maintain civility within your area.

As to *illegal* or banned drugs, it goes without saying that BOTH the seller and the supplier are to be reprimanded based on the laws.

Any Federal law would not be nearly as harsh as the law in WA state where even posting about online gambling is illegal and a felony. Same penalties for possessing child porn. So it's not about the children. It's about the cash. In this state is was corrupt politicians and a corrupt gaming commsion recieving monies from tribal casinos.

I would not be surprised if a Federal law were passed because it mixes a powergrab with sizable donations from tribal/Nevada/Atlantic City et al.
