I think the odds in the 5/39 games are 1 in 85000 to pick a 4 out of 5.  What are the odds in the other games?

I'm reading on the back of a NMRR betslip 5/34 is 1:278,256 for the grandprize (might be up to $25 K by now).

              1:1988 for a 4 of 5 for $500.

              1:74 for a 3 of 5 for $5.

But this 5/34 is special enough to make 3 / 5 a once in a lifetime experience.  For 4 of 5 a person needs to be born right, live right, know the right people, or be a waiter who managed to read the numbers for tonight draw over the shoulder of the official responsible for picking the winners for tonight as he writes them on his napkin.

It's tough, but NJ is techinally the toughest to hit anything at. It's a 5/40, and you have to get 3 out of 5 to win anything, for overall odds of 1 in 107. Your Roadrunner Cash requires a 3 of 5 or better, but it's only a 5/34, so the odds are 1 in 66.

                       Missouri Show Me 5/44

                      5 of 5 numbers $50,000 tax paid*  -- 1 in 1,086,008
                      4 of 5 numbers $250 $750 1 in 5,569
                      3 of 5 numbers $10 $25 1 in 147
                      2 of 5 numbers Free Ticket (QP) $2 1 in 12

(If someone matches 5,  2 of 5 gets you a free QP.  If nobody matches 5, 2 of 5 gets you $2)

*The Missouri Lottery will pay 25 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $70,422.54. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.

                      Odds of 3 of 5 are 1:147.

                      Looks to be a toughie.
