If I have a set of numbers that I played str./boxed, and it consists of a split pair, does the number still win?

example: winning number is 877.  I played 798 str/boxed, does the split pair win since I played it boxed?

I believe the split pair in the 877 draw would be 87, not 78 (as in the combination you played). Why not just take it in to a retailer and they will scan it. That's the easiest way to determine it.
