I took a quick look at Florida's Lottery, downloaded the 33 page HTML and did a simple cut and paste. All data ported in and sorted in less then 5 minutes.
Due to the huge amount of data, it is really slow, but it's not very difficult to port the numbers into Excel all at once.
Here is what you will want to do
1) Open the Florida's Lottery Web Page and select HTML as how you want the numbers to be displayed.
2) Once ALL the numbers have been displayed, right mouse click on the screen and click on "SELECT ALL"
3) Open a new Excel spreadsheet, make sure you are in Cell A1 and PASTE it (pressing CNTRL + V works as well).
Here is the tricky part
4) Now, to get just the part you want, once it's all pasted in place, do this
5) When you look at the screen, it will look really goofy, ignore that.
6) Select the Column the Data first starts in and while holding down the SHIFT KEY, select the Column the Data ends in. You can do one group at a time or all at one time. I suggest 1 at a time.
7) Press CNTRL + C (or COPY), then
8) on a NEW Sheet, PASTE the copied Columns in place,
repeat 6 thru 8 until all the data is transferred.
Also, some of the dates are in 2 columns, make sure to get both.
9) Once ALL of the data is copied to the new sheet, click in the top Left corner of the spreadsheet to SELECT ALL
10) Right mouse click and select FORMAT CELLS
11) pick the 2nd Tab (ALIGNMENT) and
12) click on the box beside where it is noted as WRAP TEXT & MERGE CELLS, you want these 2 boxes to be clear (not checked or highlighted)
13) Now, simple delete the unwanted columns
14) Select the first set of columns (date column thru the last data column)
15) using the QuickSort Icon (has the letters Z/A on top of each other with an arrow pointing down)
Repeat 13 thru 14 until all the data is sorted.
16) Now, simply copy each group of the data and paste it UNDER the first set. Keep doing this until you have all four sets into the same column group
17) Do one last quick sort and you are all done and the data is ready to be manipulated any way your heart desires
And yes, I am making an assumption you know how to operate Excel.
Good Luck,
Sir Metro
