Online gaming companies suspended business in the United States today after Congress backed a Bill to outlaw internet gambling.

888 Holdings said US customers would no longer be permitted to bet on its websites from today, while larger rival PartyGaming – the owner of Party Poker - said it would follow suit when President George Bush signs the Bill into law, which is expected in the next two weeks.

The moves were made as the sector – which is heavily reliant on business in the US – prepared itself for the fallout following the controversial decision to ban gamblers in the US from betting online.

Shares in the companies were expected to tumble at the start of trading today.

The shares of online casinos fell more than 80% this morning on this news.

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN in regard to online gambling.  It will not be enforced.  I noticed that one of the online casinos gave members extra playing bonuses if they voted Democrat and told a friend.  This is too profitable for the online casinos to throw up their hands and give up now.  They will protect themselves and online play will continue in a different form.

If you are too weak-kneed to buck the system and want to kow tow to the blood-sucking pigs who rule us, go ahead.  You need to operate on your own comfort level. There are too many of us to lean on every player.  The only way they can enforce this silly crusade is through the banking system.  That says volumes.

i play with Bowmans.com, which is registered & licensed thru the Isle of Mann...as for depositing funds into my account, i used a credit card the first time i opened my first account with Bet On Sports.com...it was not a pleasant expierence. I gave waaay too much personal info. The card company's security department called me 15 mins after i had completed the transaction. They were very professional but warned me against using my card for this type of transactions. I had the card cancelled and opened a new acct imediately. I only use Western Union (which i have not done in almost 2 years) when i have to deposit funds. I use DHL express for a check to be sent to me monthly. Do i believe on-line sports betting will cease (which is all i do}...about as much as i'll ever have anything but a Harley in my garage. (which i have 4).

ps...i bet daily and win more than i lose, not bragging just facts.

Good information.  I have heard about Western Union from several other people.  I personally use Net Teller, which is also on the Isle of Man.  I still believe we have a lot more on our plate than online gambling.  Islamic Fundamentalists believe they have won a great victory with the Democrat victory on Nov. 7th.  Engforcing online gambling is the last thing Frist and his lackeys will be concerned about in coming months.  It was a srange way to win votes and it obviously failed.  I notice Frist chose not to run this time. I'll be drawn and quartered before I support him for president.
