What Happened?

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

Put these words
upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me
to my doom..."

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

COMMENTS: Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago,and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.

What happened?

And I still have to "press 1" for English.

...And Nancy Pelosi says rolling back the tax cuts are the first thing she'll do if the "San Francisco Treat" is made Speaker of the House.  What a wonderful present for us all!

And as crazy as it sounds, I can deal with taxes as they are right now, I just don't want MORE taxes or higher levys.

And I think tax cuts are the wrong way to go.

What they need is someone to count pennies - $600 hammers we don't need, $2,000 plastic washers we don't need when we can get them from the hardware store for .01 each.

The business of government operation is the problem.

Yeah I always wondered why everyone just doesn't quit paying. I don't think they could ever make that many prison cells, they would not have any more tax money to regardless.

Once you are elected, the free money under the table is just too easy to turn away, so that will never ever change. You might find 5 or 10 'honest' politicians, but you need 90% of them to be honest, not 3%.

Not gonna happen in our lifetimes.

The next problem is what they call a 'fillibuster'. As long as that is allowed, again, nothing will ever change.

yeah that sounds good however they have been using fear from so many years that we have all become sheep...We are scared to death of our own shadow because of them ...The underground governments of the country would search and destroy each in every one of us in one way or another if that would happen....And if to many of us did what you propose, they would hit us with one of the biggest terrorist attacks we have ever seen...And that alone would lose 99.5% of all that didn't pay the taxes...

              Its all about money...

No one truly "owns" anything, just stop paying your home taxes, car taxes, property taxes, etc. and they'll be knocking on your door, top pay up, or give it up.

We spent 100 MILLION dollars here on an 'overpass', viaduct, whatever you want to name it, that we didn't need, we need more important things.

What just KILLS me about it, though, is that 'everyone' says 'but they only used 10% of our State tax dollars, the Federal Gov't paid the other 90%'.

And who, grasshopper, do you think funded the other 90% ?   Martians from outer space ??
