Does anyone know of a good rss or xml feed for lottery numbers
Megamillions or Powerball or both
What is RSS or XML
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_%28file_format%29

http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2002/12/18/dive-into-xml.html

Most of the time when one goes to the main Powerball or Megamillions website right after a drawing the website is down.
Some times it takes a couple of hours before you can find out what the numbers were.

I have found some RSS feeds that are ok but I would like to have one that is faster.
like 10 minutes after a draw instead of 3 hours.

If lottery Post has A RSS feed for Powerball or Megamillions I have not found it.
there are lots of RSS feeds on Lottery post just not what I am looking for.

here are some good links below
http://www.superpages.com/lottery/
http://www.superpages.com/cities/lottery/lottery-KY.html [Powerball state]
(I think most of the time you can subsitute the State in this link and it will come up for your state)
example change the KY To VA etc....
http://www.superpages.com/cities/lottery/lottery-VA.html  [Megamillions state]

http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/news/lottery/rss.xml

I have looked on powerball.com and megamillions.com for rss or xml feeds with no luck.
I did stumble upon a hidden link on Powerball that is kinda neat but it is not a rss or xml feed.

it is on this page
http://www.powerball.com/powerball/pb_numbers.asp

here is the direct link
http://www.powerball.com/powerball/testpb.doc

it is in a box that says

Every attempt is made to ensure that this list of numbers is accurate, the official winning numbers are recorded in the official draw files as certified by an independent accounting firm. Winning numbers are not official until confirmed by the auditing firm of LWBJ, LLP.  Click here if you are having trouble seeing the most recent numbers.

there is a small powerball ball just after where it says ".....the most recent numbers." it is the hidden link
it is a document of different machines used in the drawings and test draw results as well.

You are unlikely to find a web site that provides an RSS feed for all lottery results.

The simple fact is that it is very expensive and difficult to pull together a quality real-time lottery results database, and anyone willing to go to the great time and expense to do it (like I have) would be unwilling to simply give it away by giving you an RSS feed.  The only thing I require at Lottery Post is that the person simply visits this web site.  Other that the simple act of visiting Lottery Post, the results are entirely free.  I don't think you can beat that price.

By the way, Lottery Post and USA Mega have a superior technology to most state lottery web sites, and when those other sites wither and go down under the pressure of traffic, both Lottery Post and USA Mega stay up and running.  Also, both sites show the results as fast or faster than every other non-government web site on the Internet.  Usually a few seconds or a minute after the "official" site shows the results.

        Continuing!

The Kansas RSS feed you provided is a news feed, not a results feed.  (The term "news" is used loosely, as state lottery news is really just promotional material, rarely real news.)

If you were looking for a news feed, I would think that Lottery Post's RSS news feed would be what you were looking for, not sure why you would think the promo material from Kansas would be a good feed.

The Superpages results are not that good -- pretty late.  You should compare when the Superpages site present the results, and when Lottery Post shows the same thing.  You'll give up from boredom waiting for Superpages to catch up with Lottery Post's results.  I have also seen many occasions when they are very inaccurate, and it doesn't do much good to look at inaccurate results, because you always have to double-check them with another site (like Lottery Post).

Also, superpages shows one game at a time, and you have to click, click, click to get them.  Not good for people who frequently check the results.

I guess my best bet is to use something like html to rss and create my own.

          http://www.wotzwot.com/

          Thank you for your help.

all I am looking for is a simple RSS feed for just the Power Ball and Just the Mega Millions

          Results

          Winner or no Winner

          Amount

http://www.usamega.com/  is a good link for just the Numbers and Jackpot amount.

That is what I am looking for except in RSS format.

Again Thank you for your help.

          Cool

USA MEGA is by far the best site for reporting lottery results (Powerball) before 11:10PM EST

            its server did not crash.

POWERBALL.COM REPORTED @ 11:11PM EST (most of the time powerball.com crashes)

I was surprised that kylottery.com posted about the same time powerball.com did.

Lottery post did not post changes until 11:14PM EST (still this is very good and the site did not crash)

I think it posted later because of a lot more data it has to handle like results from other lotteries.

            Still it was pretty impressive.

            tnlottery.com posted around 11:17PM EST.

BTW I gave up on Super Pages (you were right it takes forever) 45 minutes and still waiting
