Mississippi and Alabama already have a form of gambling instituted in their states.  The voters have turned the Lottery down so far.  I think Mississippi would be a MM state because Mississippians go to Louisiana to play PB.  Alabama might be a PB since MM is in neighboring Georgia.

In Mississippi:

  1. Mississippi Riverboat gambling in Vicksburg and Natchez
  2. Gulf Coast Casinoes
  3. Indian Reservation in Neshoba County

In Alabama:

  1. A greyhound dog racing track in Mobile
  2. Eutaw has a dog or horse track

And Washington, DC has Powerball. DC even has the underrated Hot Lotto game.

It's unclear how they will go. I thought maybe NC would go to MM (wishful thinking) since SC has PB. But I guess SC was taking more money from NC, so they decided to play the game that would shut SC out.

Don't forget all of the casinos in Tunica, Mississippi up by Memphis. There are a dozen or so up that way.

Alabama also has casinos in Atmore and Montgomery.  They are owned by the creek indians.

How are you going to win if you don't play?

Mississippi has the Nevada mentality towards lottery so far- casinos but no lottery. Doesn't really make sense. The casinos worry that the lottery will take away from them but there are states with both - and both do well.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I live in Mississippi and we are last in everything..we will never get a lottery unless the majority of people voted on it  and then I would think it might pass..would be nice to play in my own state but I dont look for that to happen anytime soon..maybe it should be a quest of mine..start pushing for a lottery in Mississippi..I wonder how many signatures or whatever would be needed to have it put on a ballot to be voted on..looks to me like the state wouldnt mind having another cookie jar..LOL
