  OK, you've won a jackpot and after reading the threads about sharing with others, remaining anonymous if at all posssibe, and info from state lottery websites themselves you decide to disappear for awhile.

  Where do you go?  Keep in mind, the idea is to "lay low", "go to the mattresses", etc...

  Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners. 

  

  There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

  Another country, preferably a tax-free one. Might take up roost there on a more permanent base. I hear that Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Cayman Islands are nice any time of year.

  Logically, in a motel in the same town you live in until you have all of your affairs in order.

  Once you have your affairs in order, you go where you think you can afford to live the rest of your life... be it across the world, across the country, across the state, or across the street.

  I choose somewhere near San Diego - or Key West - or Padre Island - or Catalina Island, I have no desire to venture outside the USA anytime soon.

  PS - I have friends in Keokuk - it is a nice place, believe it or not, you can keep South Beach FLA and all the crime.

  Patagonia.  I once saw a National Geographic special and have wanted to visit that part of the world ever since.  Switzerland is supposed to be a good place to keep your privacy. 

  Are you talking about tax evasion or just a place to get away for some peace & quiet?  I would of course pay all my taxes, but there are a lot of specialists who say there are many ways to legally avoid paying taxes, so I'd check them out too.

  Do you remember the song "Joshua Gone Barbados?"   Heard it at a Tom Rush concert in the 60s.

  Nancy, my wife and I honeymooned there.  Very cool island.  A lot of wealthy people own houseboats and anchor them off shore, living there year-round.  Funnest place I've ever been to.  I'll have to play the Mega on Tuesday so I can buy the boat and invite you down for a spell.
