Quebec had its first drawing of "Jour de paye" last night, which is a 6/36 game that replaces the retired Joker game.
I really like this trend AWAY from games with "gimicky" features, like Joker had with its selection of one of the J-O-K-E-R letters instead of using a number.
With the new game players select 6 numbers, 1-36, and during the drawing a seventh bonus number is also drawn, just like how NY Lotto works.
The fact that they have added a 6/36 game is just awesome — I love the fact that there will be many winners over time (hopefully!) due to the smaller matrix. Also, the jackpot is nice, because winners get the choice of either a $675,000 lump-sum or $2,000 every 2 weeks for life.
Jour de paye details are available on the Game Info page: http://www.lotterypost.com/game/317
Of course the fact that Quebec uses real lottery drawings for all their games, including this one, is an enormous plus!
