Hello everyone. I'm Zelda - just joined a few hours ago. Pleased to be here - and I'm enjoying these posts!
I've been buying instant scratch off tickets in NYC for years, for both me and my mom. We like to buy them on the weekends and sit down together and scratch off the tickets. Over the years, I've also developed a system that I've read about here - the more tickets you buy from the same roll, the better chance you have of winning. I'll usually buy 20 tickets from the same roll.
Here in NY, $1.00 and $2.00 tickets are sold starting with the series numbered 001 - 250. Several months ago, I noticed that when I purchased $1.00 tickets with the series starting around 020 - 040, I'd win more than I would have if I purchased tickets with higher series numbers. It's similar with the $2.00 tickets - I've found that I have had more luck if I purchased a $2.00 ticket with the series 200 - 220 on it.
I have yet to win anything abundantly more than I've spent, but for the most part, I do manage to get back what I put in plus a couple of dollars extra for the next week - even though it doesn't work all of the time! I guess that's why they call it gambling!
I'm curious - has anyone else ever purchased tickets based on the series number?
