Hey Jeff,
<>I wrote about this a couple of weeks ago. The Hoosier Lottery has not been won for over 9 months now...since October 17, 2006! Eighty (80!) draws on a straight 6/48 game and no jackpot winner!
<><>This is unbelievable to me. A straight Pick 6 game...drawn twice a week...and not one single winner in almost 10 months! One possible explanation is that sales are so pathetic that this is just the "natural" results of low sales. Of course the Hoosier Lottery will not publish it's sales figures. So we have no idea how many tickets are sold for each draw and therefore, can't truly estimate the odds of this happening. But that could be the reason. Just take a look at the latest new game from the Hoosier Lottery....(who's slogan is Your Best Chance to Win a Million Dollars!)...The Million Dollar Raffle.
<><>"Only" 325,000 $20 tickets went on sale at the first of July. Sales end on the 16th of August (or whenever all ticlets are sold). There are suppossed to be two $1 million dollar prizes and the Hoosier Lottery's ad campaign touts that this is your best chance ever to win a million dollars. To date...in 3 weeks of sales...the Hoosier Lottery has only sold a little over 40,000 tickets. There are still over 284,000 tickets left!
<><>With 3 weeks left to go maybe the residents of this state are waiting to buy their tickets. Maybe they'll be a big last minute rush? (In fact maybe some Lottery Post members will like the odds and rush out to buy some Hoosier Lottery Raffle tickets?) But I doubt it. A more likely explanation is that sales are flat. (Of course it is equally possible that the Hoosier Lottery is underreporting sales in an attempt to make the odds of winning seem better...they've done this before on scratch off games.) But I think it could be that people just aren't willing to spend $20 on an institution (the Hoosier Lottery) that has has little (or even no) integrity left...no matter how good the "published" odds are.
With regard to the Hoosier Lottery's 6/48 game and it's 9 month plus roll over streak...there is another explanation...the dreaded RNG! Could it be that the powers that be at the Hoosier Lottery have decided to let the game run on and establish a new record in order to increase sales? (The old record was 41 million and I believe that was established when they had only 1 draw a week. Maybe someone can verify that for me.)
We all know that bigger jackpot's mean higher sales...and the Hoosier Lottery does have a well documented history of corruption. So would the Hoosier Lottery stoop so low as to use their computer to track the numbers played and then make sure the RNG doesn't pick a winning combination?
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Oh well it doesn't matter to me any more because I no longer play any Hoosier Lottery games at all.
At any rate it's time for me to take my medication...so from the home of the most corrupt and crooked lottery in the world...I'd like to welcome Lottomike and all the residents of the great state of Tennessee to the wonderful world of RNG Paranoia!
