  I just finished installing substantial performance increases for the prediction statistics pages, including all the statistics reports for each member, and all the Top Predictors reports.

  It took a major architectural change to the database and some creative coding to make it happen.  (Anyone who has data warehouse experience may appreciate the difficulty.)

  There are now more that 110 million predictions made by all of you (and a few by me ) stored in the database -- all of which is reported in real-time in the statistics pages.

  If you'd like to see the stats in action, click anyone's name and choose "Prediction Statistics".  Or click "Top Predictors" in the Predictions menu.  Try flipping around some of the various options.  Enjoy!

   

  P.S. I also added one more thing that I had intended to for a long time.  New predictions are not calculated into the stats until the next day.  That makes the stats more accurate, because with the picks from today in there, they are not balanced against whatever wins the person may get.  By waiting until the drawing has taken place, they are accurate.

  Before Todd gets sleep... maybe it's just me but i cannot see the new features (or maybe I am doing the wrong thing). Cany anyone pls enlighten us. I am seeing the same stats as before. i cleared my cache so I'm not sure what I am missing.

  I did not mention new features -- just speed.  Of course, to anyone who has not seen them before, they would be "new".

  The speed up is fine. Except, that I am a person that liked the old method ... Anyway, nice work!

  The speed is the only thing that changed.  Are you saying you liked it slower?

  Edit: I guess you're talking about including stats from games that have not been drawn yet.  I like it to be accurate; others may feel otherwise.  I gotta go with my gut on this.
