Ok when would it be a good time to play Pick 3 "Short Sums" or "Left Digit Sums"

Short Sum 0 = Sums 0,10,20

1 = Sums 1,11,21

2 = Sums 2,12,22

3 = Sums 3,13,23

4 = Sums 4,14,24

5 = Sums 5,15,25

6 = Sums 6,16,26

7 = Sums 7,17,27

8 = Sums 8,18

9 = Sums 9,19

If a state has 3 Short Sums 20 skips or more at the same time??

For example Delaware Midday only drawing:

Midday

 30 26 21 DE3M 3 4 7

Delaware has Short Sums 3 @ 30 skips, 4 @ 26 skips, and 7 @ 21 skips

Below are the remaining midday state that have the same:

 46 29 27 IN3M 0 3 5

Evening Only States:

 64 21 20 ID3E 8 4 2

 32 27 25 NM3E 9 0 6

 27 21 20 WA3E 5 9 6

 70 24 23 DC3E 3 6 4

Combined  Midday & Evening Drawings:

 28 22 20 DE3C 0 8 3

 31 26 21 NJ3C 5 8 9

 31 28 20 VA3C 2 8 7

 66 32 28 DC3C 3 5 4

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So out of a possible 10 Midday States there are 2 occurances

10 Combined (Midday & Evening) there are 4 occurances

36 Evening States there are 4 occurances

So 10 occurances out of a total of 56 possible state drawings

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Would you consider this a good play when you have 3 or more short sums @ 20 or more skips or

3 or more short sums @ 30 or more skips??

Winsum..... Great questions!

I have learned that things that worked for me most of the time in my state for years ....don't work in others and it drives me nuts. A lot of these games were Abused as children ....or something. They don't react normally or respond in a expected manner. They are not always...POLITE.  LOL

Bottom line is ..... I have gone back in forth on this. I have always said they can hide one thing..and they may be able to hide 2 things...... But they can't hide 3 things very long at all.

Looking at those great research examples you worked out .....  whats the best way to measure them?  My back and forth is this.

The DE example.

30

26

21

77    ......      total days out for all 3 short sums    Should we look at the totals for all 3 sums?  or  should we just consider the last or least out sum as the guide?

In other words ..... should we just consider that all 3 sums are all out only..... 21 draws??

DC  66

32

28

116  draws out for all 3 sums    or consider that all are only out 28 draws? Total

My inclination is to say.... they are all 3 out only 28 draws.........but...  You have to allow some special consideration for that 66 day skip monster right? I dont know how to best deal with that sort of unbalance .......

The only real failure .....is the failure to try.

Luck is a very rare thing....... Odds not so much.

Odds never change .....but probability does.

Just in case ...... anyone wants to considerPlaying at the  DC combined out Short Sums 3,,5,,and 4  because they are all out at least ..... 28 draws.. here you go.

All 3 of those short sums contain 12 singles per..... so 36 boxes x 6 = 216 straights

and each of the short sums contain....27 double boxes ....so 27 x3 = 81 straight doubles

Plus...........................=  3 trips

==========

300 straights missing 28 draws

So ....missing 30% for 28 draws .....normal average is every 3 or 4 draws

That means DC combined is running about ..... 8.5 times over due....   and most groups never make it to or past 6 times their average.

The only real failure .....is the failure to try.

Luck is a very rare thing....... Odds not so much.

Odds never change .....but probability does.

Combined draws:

Delaware and Virginia both hit:

New Jersey and DC did not.

Current States:

 33 28 23 NJ3C 5 8 9

 68 34 30 DC3C 3 5 4

Interesting to see DC - all 3 sums out at least 30 draws.  Wonder how long this will go on??

Evening States:

Amazingly no Evening only states with 3 short sums 20 or more draws.

Both Ohio and Missouri HIT Midday Sunday Midday

Guess that means 20 skips for all 3 is the alert level ..... maybe.

Noticed MD eve....  had short sums 7,,3,,and 0    Out respectively ... 57,, 51 ...and 14 skips.

Thats another level to consider perhaps.... total skips .....122 skips for all 3 ....

but.... all 3 just out 14 as a group.
