1.  Is "Pool Depth" as it relates to the lottery a copyrighted word?

2.  Does anyone use this as a way of selecting combinations?  Especially Pick 3?

Steve,

I've never heard that expression before. How is it used?

Hi Carbob,

The reason I ask is that I did a search (entire history) for this here and only received a couple hits.

Dan Hudson's has a Pick 3 book that explains Pool Depth.

This should explain it:

 PENNSYLVANIA EVENING PA3E POOL DEPTH Thu-Aug-23-2007 E 468 4 6 8 5 Wed-Aug-22-2007 E 814 8 1 4 5 Tue-Aug-21-2007 E 138 1 3 8 4 Mon-Aug-20-2007 E 308 3 0 8 3 Sun-Aug-19-2007 E 053 0 5 3 2 Sat-Aug-18-2007 E 622 6 2 2 1 Fri-Aug-17-2007 E 880 8 8 0 Thu-Aug-16-2007 E 793 7 9 3

Aug 23, 2007 drawing 4-6-8 has a Pool Depth of "5".  Look at the draws that took place before August 23rd and locate the digits 4-6-8.

You'll notice the 8 and 4 hit on the 8/22 and you have to go back to 8/18 to find the 6.  So, the Pool depth is "5".

Check your own states results and watch for Pool Depths of 2 and 3.  See how many times it occurs in the past 365 draws.

Take the digits from the previous 2 draws and create combos.

If somebody was selling a product or service they could potentially get a trademark or service mark on "pool depth" but short phrases can't be copyrighted. Even if it was a trade mark that only prevents people from using it to sell another product. The rights that come with owning a trademark are limited, and other people are free to use the trademark in a discussion.  Chevy was even able to name one of their cars "Beretta" even though it was already a trademark of Beretta firearms, because the trademark office (or perhaps a court) ruled that it was unlikely that anyone would be confused since the two products are substantially different.

hello Steve

i think Expert Lotto already use that in Segment Statistics but the challenge part is lining up right segment in history 0 to 10 (11 stage) but if you can find the right pattern i think you may win straight hit at least one time per month with maybe less than 5 tickets to play,

also Ion Saliu use it in  "ion 12345, ver 1234567" (strategy) unfortunately reading Ion Saliu program give me dizzy because i don't know how to applied the "strategy"

i think "pool depth", segment, or ion 12345 would be a great way to play straight hit in Pick 3/4/5/6 if we can find the patterns

good luck

Most folks call it skip rather than pool depth. Marketing Types like to coin phrases that make old concepts sound like something new and exciting.

A mind once stretched by a new idea never returns to its original dimensions!
