 Tonight's headline:

Decetives arrest man who stole lottery tickets

Decetives?  Maybe the Fort Myers News-Press should use a spellchecker!

(yes, I make mistakes all the time, but I'm not a journalist writing headlines!)

Anyway, it was on the 11:00 news too.  A clerk stole 200 books of scratch-off tickets beginning in March 2006 (totaling $125,000) and cashed in about $12,000 in prizes.

Maybe this should tell us something about the odds!  Eek

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

    Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Now I remember why I quit buying scratch-offs.  lol

And I agree with you about the spelling issue.  There's a TV station here that always has something misspelled (should that be one s or 2?) during their local newscast.  One time they had their own reporter's name spelled wrong!!!  Sheesh!

Yup - here's a follow up story! Same reporter.  This article looks okay.  That's the problem with deadlines and "breaking news" headlines.
