This is off-topic, but I'd risk going off-topic to help out one of our own, who proudly serves this country.
Ducksafloat's son, Dezmond, has served in the United States Army for 12 years now, and has recently returned from Iraq. He's a hero to us all.
Now Dezmond is back state-side, and has resumed his love of poetry. Dezmond entered a nationwide contest, and has advanced to the top 25. If he can get to the next round of the competition he will be flown to Austin, TX to perform and will have a chance to win $10,000.00.
Dezmond needs our votes!
I would like to encourage everyone reading this to vote once a day to help propell a truly deserving person to the next level. It would mean a lot to him because poetry is his lifetime love.
To vote, please go to www.famecast.com and search for thewordsmith. When you click on Dezmond's page you will see/hear his recorded performance.
You will need to register the first time in order to vote, providing your name and email address on the registration form. Once that process is complete you will be able to vote.
Voting for this round ends Friday November 30th at 12pm EST, and you can vote once per day and are very much encouraged to do so.
Dezmond will be thrilled if you could help him with this.

She's actually using Dezmond's LP account now, not sure why. She may be posting less because of Dr.'s orders, but I'm not sure. Maybe she could give us a shout!
Did you get a chance to view the video? It's really good. You can tell it is a very emotional story for him.

thank u all so very much! just got of the phone with Dez, he says he's number #6, he needs to maintain #5 til the 30th! so the votes are very important. he's having computer problems right now, but he will be here the very first chance he gets and expresses much appreciation!
now as for me, i'll be back no later than the eve of the new year and um gone tear the state of TX's a brand new attitude on the p4 side in them there vtracs! gotta run but the lot of u guys r in my heart.

Sorry for the late response Todd.... Yes I had a chance to view the video and go to his website.... a really nice tribute to his mother!! The votes are coming....and coming..... and coming..... :-)
