Percentage of wagers returned as prizes to gamblers in Nevada in 2007, by game:

Slot machines 93.9%

Sports Betting 92.9%

Baccarat 87.3%

Blackjack 87.3%

Craps 86.5%

Horse Racing 83.0%

Roulette 81.3%

Granted that's Nevada, and 2007, but a pretty indicator.

I would love to see a similar breakdown for any state with a lottery, game by game.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

    Dated - I haven't had time to work on it in almost a year, but you can get the general idea.

    Incidentally, I don't know what was printed in USA Today, but the payout percentages for live Keno are, as a rule, even worse.
