Scott311's is number 59713.  I assume guest are not incuded so isnt that close to the number?

There must be other newer members that havent posted but registered?

Members listed as "Guest" are still members.  They just don't have the ability to post to the forums yet because they did not activate their account.

The member number ("Member #xxxxx") that is shown in the forums next to someone's posted message is the order that they became a member.  It is called the "Join Order", and is also visible in the member's profile page.

The Join Order does NOT match the member's ID number.  The ID number is an internal number that allows the system to keep track of the person.  The ID number is visible in the member's profile page URL.

Using yourself (lottocalgal) as an example, you are Member #57701 (that is your Join Order).  Your ID (which is not really meaningful to anyone other than the system) is 58921, so your member profile is http://www.lotterypost.com/member/58921.

For those members who started posting messages at Lottery Post before there was a registered membership, the Join Order is determined by the date of the member's first post to the forums.

I recently discovered a flaw that was made when the member numbers where calculated for the oldest members, so when I correct the error the lowest member numbers may shift somewhat.  For example, Lucky is currently #20, but should actually be #10 based on his first post to the forum.  Joyjoy8 is going to jump from #372 to #7 (based on joyjoy8's first post here).  Some will go up, some will go down, but it's the most fair way I can think of to set things right.

So that means  it really is  very close to  if not have already exceeded 60,000 "members"? or does that numbere still include "guest"  I still don't completely understand that part, sorry.

                      Thanks for the explanation, Todd

The count on the home page is accurate.  That is the number (quantity) of members who joined Lottery Post.
