Now the MM jackpot is 115 millions. The actual amount of winning will be 53.4 millions after tax. Well, this doesn't happen often. I mean, after a big jackpot, normally there are a few minor jackpots before the amount hits 100 mil. But this time it just goest straight to 115 mil. I wonder if there;s gonna be another major jackpot in history.

It's not that unusual for MM to reach 100 million. On average they have to sell 176 million tickets for each winner, and 176 milliontickets generates about  $90 million (annuity value). A jackpot of 100 million following one that's well over 200 is only unusual because it doesn't get well past 200 very often. OTOH, almost exactly two year ago there were back to back jackpots of $267 million and $265 million.

How the chances of winning are still 1/175000000+ no matter when you play or win?

Well the last one wasn't a "major one in history" is was a lot but not major, 350+ is major, 275 is alright.

No no no. You guys misunderstood me. I said that big jackpots are rare AFTER there was a big jackpot. Normally there are a few small jackpots after a major one breaks out.

I understood you. There's plenty of room to argue over what constitutes a big jackpot and a minor one, so let's start at 100 million. Over the last 3 1/2 years (a somewhat arbitrary period, because the jackpot of 101 million happened to be the last entry on the page) jackpots of more than 100 million have been followed by another jackpot over 100 million 13 times (red, below), and by  jackpots under 100 million 7 times (blue). If you want to call a big jackpot one over 200, then there were 5  (bold red) followed by jackpots of 100 or more, and 3 (small blue)  followed by jackpots under 100. For jackpots of 250 or more it's still 4 over and only 3 under.

            Here's the list:
            101  149
            24
            130  112  205  106  170  250  315
            35  88  15
            267  265
            94  47  34  49  31
            163
            12  15  55  75  40
            122  390  105  112
            44
            126  330
            60  12  26  75
            163
            33
            270  113+

whether it is unusual or not, whether the pot is up or down the question still remains same.. can YOU hit it?...for the last 9 drawings nobody has been able to say yes

Who cares if it's 15 mill or 350 mill - either way it's better than what you have currently.
