Wow, talk about RED.

Looks like the Montana Lottery decided to upgrade their web site.  After looking at it, I need to rest my eyes, because I feel like a flash photographer just took a roll of photos of me with his flash set to "maximum".

Plus, with the starfield above, and the creepy text used for the menus, I feel more like I entered a haunted house than a lucky lottery site.

Check it out and see if you agree...

(Sorry Montana, I'd be this harsh to myself, it's nothing personal.)

I like the new layout that they have. I think it is better then what it used to be. But I have to agree, the red is a bit too much. Although it isn't too bad.

I read this on the site - very sad.

      17. Is it possible to win the lottery and remain anonymous?

No. In Montana, by law, your name, the amount won, and the town you're from is public information. It is not possible to win the Lottery in Montana and remain anonymous.

It's not too bad. I thought it was gonna be a bright red, it's more like a pale red which is not so bad on the eyes. Red is my favourite color so maybe I'm bias.

Maybe your monitor is dimmed over time, or just doesn't show color vibrantly.  Mine is relatively new, so maybe I'm just seeing the color as it is supposed to appear, which is "true red".

I actually get eye strain just from looking at it for a minute or two.

Green is my favorite color, but if someone designed a web page with a vibrant green background it would not make me like such a jarring color choice.

Red is suppossed to make people more aggressive.

One of the casinos I worked in switched to red uniform shirts because of that.

some casinos went to red felt layouts instead of the traditional green ones, same reasoning.

I don't think a lottery website having a bright red background would increase play, but who knows?

I know, 'puters and all, but on the website where they tell players how to fill out a playslip they say use any color but red!

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                      Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.
